A Road Trip across Southern California for a Video Travel Video Series
In October of 2019, I was hired to spend a week road tripping across Southern California with two awesome actresses and a hard-working production manager. The end result was a series of short tourism videos that are being used to promote California for international travel.
Our schedule was a jam-packed 5 days that would take us through Dana Point, Big Bear Lake, Santa Barbara, and finally to San Luis Obispo. The final website created from that content can be viewed here:

Our Dana Point shoot included a surfing lesson at a private resort, a hike around a nature preserve, then a final walk around a pier for some shopping and treats.
Our next stop was in the beautiful mountain town of Big Bear, where we explored downtown, did an off-road jeep excursion, then watched the sunset from a private boat charter.
Santa Barbara was our third stop on this whirlwind road trip. Highlights from there included the artful downtown district, the Mission Rose Garden, and Stearns Wharf.
Our last was in San Luis Obispo, or “SLO,” as it’s known to locals. We took a sunrise kayak paddle in the bay, followed that up by gobbling some fresh oysters, and then took a leisurely drive along the coast to take in the wildlife and sunset.
We filmed SO MUCH CONTENT that it was ridiculous, but I’ve learned that it really helps to have options in the edit, and to suit the tastes of each person involved in the project. Despite long days that included hot weather and long drives, the crew did an awesome job and we had tons of fun along the way.
Here’s a small photo gallery from the trip, including images from myself, Bevan, and even some bts shots:
