Video Production of Kentucky Tourism Videos for Berea, Bowling Green, and Frankfort
The summer of 2021 kept me busy in back home in Kentucky, filming a series of three tourism videos for Bowling Green, Berea, and Frankfort.
Each shoot was produced similarly; with one full day to capture all assets, I’d need to hit 3-4 primary locations around each town and film clips to create :60 and :15 spots, along with still photos. It might not sound like much, but it actually makes for a packed day!
The first one, and arguably my favorite, was Bowling Green.
Due to bad weather this one had to get rescheduled twice! Mother nature just wasn’t cooperating. Finally, the third time we were lucky enough to get clear skies. We had an awesome family to work with, and each location was exciting and unique to provide for some really fun content.
Next up was Berea, a town that’s known for its local artisans. Our shoot would take us to see a glass blower, a shop with hand made gifts and items, a woodworking shop, and a handmade jewelry store.
Each location was nearly right next door to the other, so that was really convenient! The glass blowing had some cool visuals with the oven and fire, so that one was easy. The gift shop was a little trickier as there was no action there besides folks shopping. I knew this would need some help in the edit to keep the energy going, so I cut some frames according to the music track to give it a bit of visual interest.
The third video in this series was for Frankfort.
Frankfort was cool because it was a great mix of content; we had a walking tour, a museum, a bar, and a boat ride along the Kentucky River! It really represented the diversity of activities that someone could easily do in a day, all the while learning about the rich history of the state and capital.
